This Privacy Policy explains how iris collects, uses, and protects information when you use iris.market and related services (the Service).
Information We Collect
Account information you provide, including your name, email address, and optionally your mobile phone number and general location such as city, state, and postal code. Listing content you submit, including photos, descriptions, prices, and related details. Basic technical and log data needed to operate and secure the Service.
How We Use Information
We use your information to operate the Service: to create and display your listings, match items between members, enable messaging between members, value items, and communicate with you about your account and activity.
SMS and Text Messaging
If you provide your mobile phone number and opt in, we send you text messages related to creating and managing your listings, such as item analysis results and listing confirmations, and account verification codes.
No mobile information, including your phone number and your text messaging opt-in or consent, is sold, rented, or shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. We share phone numbers only with our messaging provider, and only to deliver the messages you have requested. Message frequency varies with your activity. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any message to opt out, or HELP for help.
How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with service providers who help us operate the Service, such as hosting, messaging, and payment providers, under obligations of confidentiality; with other members, to the extent you choose to publish listings or send messages; and where required by law.
Data Retention and Account Deletion
We keep your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations.
When you delete your account, we remove your personal information but keep a record of exchanges that involved money or value. Your name, email address, phone number, photos, messages and listing content are deleted or stripped, and the link between you and your past transactions is severed. What remains is an anonymised financial record — amounts, dates, and how each exchange settled — without information identifying you.
We do this because tax and financial reporting rules require a marketplace to retain records of transactions for a number of years after they occur, and we cannot meet that obligation if the records are erased on request. We keep these anonymised records for at least seven years.
Your Choices
You can review and update your account information at any time in your profile settings, remove your phone number, or contact us to request deletion of your account, subject to the retention described above.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes
We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the Last updated date above.
